Emma Lauze, B.A (Hons), P.G.Dip., M.A., Head of Conservation

Emma joined Beams in 2014 and was appointed Head of Conservation in April 2020; she focuses on statutory conservation advice, conservation area appraisals and heritage statements. She has a specialist knowledge of British Architecture having previously worked for the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art for many years.

Studied Modern History at University of Oxford and History of Architecture at The Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London and Archival Administration at Aberystwyth University.


Helen Cal-Fernandez, BSc (Hons), MSc, Conservation Consultant

Since joining BEAMS in 2006 Helen has provided conservation advice to various Hertfordshire local authorities including Hertsmere, Stevenage, Broxbourne and East Hertfordshire. She has also prepared building at risk surveys, conservation area appraisals and management plans, house histories and historic building appraisals for local authorities and private clients. She has detailed local knowledge of the county. A former conservator of stone and sculpture, she has specialist knowledge of the repair and conservation of stonework and building fabric.
Studied Heritage Conservation and Architectural Materials Conservation at Bournemouth University.


Anne Haworth BA (Hons) Administrator

Anne is responsible for invoicing BEAMS clients and is often the first to respond to enquiries. Her principal work is for the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust, fund-raising, and managing Place House Hall, Ware.
